Makeup Minis
It's hard to go wrong with mini/travel size makeup products. They're the best way to try out new things, and they're perfect for any girl on the go. These mini products fall within a huge range of prices, and are available at most beauty product retailers (Shoppers Drug Mart, Sephora, Nordstrom, etc.).
Nail Polish - $10.00 (ish)
I love painting my nails but I'm rarely inspired to go out and shop for new nail polish colours. Nail polish is an ideal stocking stuffer because a) it's easy to find and b) it's something that will typically get a lot of use for a long period of time. You can also create a mani/pedi or spa day-inspired stocking around it; just throw in some nail files, hand cream, and a face mask!
The relatively new Sally Hansen Color Therapy line is my current favourite because it contains an argan oil formula that prevents nails from drying out. This keeps nails healthy even when they've had nail polish on them for quite some time.
Travel Sudoku Book - $9.99
I've always loved sudoku, but I've recently become a huge fan of playing it while commuting on the subway every day. It's a great activity to wake me up before school in the morning, and makes me feel like I'm being productive on the way home. It's also a good commuting activity because sometimes I find reading a book in such choppy increments can be difficult. Indigo always sells adorable travel size game books (sudoku, word searches, etc.) which are perfect for anyone who will be travelling, or has a lot of commuting to look forward to! They're lightweight and compact, and easily fit into any bag or pocket.
fresh Zodiac Oval Soap - $18.00
These soaps are a great stocking stuffer because they're a more personalized option than the others (as long as you know the person's Zodiac sign). Each soap comes gorgeously wrapped with a stone overtop, and each scent is quite unique. They also quite honestly smell like they cost more than $18. The one drawback is that the scent is quite strong (even through the packaging), so it may be best to skip this one if the person you're shopping for is sensitive to strong scents.
Lip balms are a winter staple. While we all have our favourites for those dire times when it seems like our lips are constantly dry, there's nothing better than being proactive with every day lip products that contain all of the moisturizing properties one could ever want during winter. Aside being crucial for the cold weather ahead, their red-toned colour is perfect for use right on Christmas Day!
Burt's Bees Kissable Color Lip Shimmers - $9.99Burt's Bees has a ton of cute offerings in their holiday collection (if you're still looking for gifts as well!). One of them is the Kissable Color pack, which is a festively-decorated box containing three lip shimmers, They're available in both warm and cool tones. The ones pictured below are the colours from the warm collection. Like other Burt's Bees lip products, they contain Beeswax and Vitamin A, while smelling like peppermint!
fresh Sugar Lip Treatments - $29.00
Another lip balm option is fresh's sugar lip treatments. Although they're more expensive than Burt's Bees, these are my favourite because they also double as one of the best lip stain products on the market. If I apply any of these in the morning, my lips will still have colour on them eight hours later. Some of them also have SPF 15 in them so they're useful all-year round.
Hopefully this post helped you pick out a specific product, or at least gave you some last minute inspiration! Merry Christmas everyone!
Disclaimer: I purchase most of the products I review on my blog myself, but sometimes I’m lucky enough to have the opportunity to try and review products sent by brands for consideration. I'm also lucky to have some amazing friends that may give me a gift or two from time to time. That being said, any thoughts and views expressed are always 100% honest and straight out of my own crazy brain.
